It’s important to note that the Brazilian forward was not selected by Carlo Ancelotti for Brazil’s World Cup 2026 qualifiers. Since Brazil has already secured a spot in the tournament, the coach chose to give him some much-needed rest.

Despite Vinícius’s absence, Brazil easily defeated Chile in last night’s qualifier, winning 3-0.

Chile has struggled throughout the qualifying rounds, currently sitting at the bottom of the table with only 10 points from 17 matches.

Brazil moved up to second place, trailing Argentina by 10 points. The Seleção will complete their qualifying matches on September 10 against Bolivia.
