Haaland Sends Best Wishes to Akanji as He Joins Inter Milan

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has addressed the departure of his former teammate Manuel Akanji to Inter Milan. The Norwegian player shared a heartfelt message on his Instagram.

Haaland posted several photos with Akanji and wrote: “A top player and a top guy! Proud to have been your mate at @bvb09 and at @mancity. Wishing you all the best, Manu! @manuelobafemiakanji”.

Haaland and Akanji were teammates not just at Manchester City, but also at Borussia Dortmund, where they spent two and a half seasons together. Akanji moved to England from Germany in 2022, the same transfer window as Haaland. City paid €20 million for his transfer.

Akanji is now transferring to Inter Milan on a one-year loan deal, with a transfer fee of €1 million.

Last season, Akanji played in 40 matches for Manchester City across all competitions, contributing 2 assists.
