Athletic Bilbao Starts Major Push to Secure Aymeric Laporte’s Registration

Details: According to Marca, Athletic Bilbao is looking at all options to resolve the registration issue concerning Aymeric Laporte.

Reports indicate that FIFA could not confirm the defender’s three-year contract due to a delay in receiving transfer documents from Saudi Arabia.

Laporte’s future at the club is uncertain, but management is actively working on a solution. They are ready to appeal to both the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) and UEFA for mediation with FIFA. As a final option, they also plan to take the case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

Last season, Laporte played 30 matches for Al Nassr and scored 5 goals. He moved to the Saudi club from Manchester City in 2023 for €28 million.
